Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-10-09 · Draft for review
These terms describe the rights and responsibilities on both sides when you use the assessments and credentials of Atlas AI Academy (“the platform”). By using the platform you agree to them. This page is a pre-launch draft written from how the system actually behaves.
1. What the service is
- AI-readiness assessments (a standard form and a short screening form), a competency report, and — above the pass mark — a verifiable certificate.
- Practice mode is free, needs no account, is untimed, counts toward no statistics, and grants no certificate.
- A formal assessment requires a seat, bought directly or issued by your organization as a redeem code.
2. Your account
- Registration requires your real name and country, and verification of your email by code.
- Accounts are personal. You are responsible for everything done under yours, and may not transfer, lend, or sell an account or an exam seat.
- Repeated failed logins temporarily lock sign-in for that address, to blunt credential-stuffing.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data yourself in Profile → Settings.
3. Seats and validity
- One seat covers one formal attempt. The seat is consumed the moment you press “Begin Assessment”, whether or not you finish or pass.
- Seats are bound to a form: a short-screening seat cannot start a standard paper.
- A seat from a redeem code carries whatever validity the issuer set; a purchased seat is valid for 1 year from purchase by default.
- Leaving an organization does not refund a seat already spent.
4. Taking the exam, and proctoring
- Formal assessments are timed: 80 minutes for the standard form, 20 for the short form. When the clock runs out the paper submits automatically and everything you answered still counts.
- Formal assessments require a computer; phones are not supported.
- Where remote proctoring is enabled, we take your explicit, recorded consent before capturing anything. What is captured and how long it is kept is in the Privacy Policy.
- Integrity flags raised by the system are prompts for human review. The system never decides on its own that you cheated, and a flag does not by itself change your score.
- For accessibility accommodations such as extra time, contact us before the exam; extra time is granted by an administrator and cannot be self-enabled.
5. Scoring
- Objective items are machine-scored. Written answers are first scored by an AI against a rubric; confident scores are adopted, the rest go to a human reviewer.
- Your free-text answers are sent to a third-party model service for scoring. Please do not include personal information you would not want shared.
- A certificate requires an overall score of at least 60 out of 100.
- If you disagree with a score, you may request a review within 14 days of receiving your report. A review checks whether the rubric was applied correctly; it is not a re-sit and does not issue new questions.
6. Certificates
- A certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. An expired certificate remains authentic — verification still returns valid — it has simply lapsed.
- Certificates are checked on the public verification page. If you consented to an identity photo, it is visible only to signed-in verifiers and never appears in the public result.
- We may revoke a certificate for cheating, impersonation, or falsified information, and in those cases no refund is due.
7. What you may not do
- Record, screenshot, copy, or distribute exam content or answers, or help anyone else do so.
- Sit an exam for someone else, have someone sit one for you, or use unauthorized outside help during an exam.
- Scrape, load-test, evade rate limits, or otherwise interfere with the service.
- Any of these may lead to suspension or termination of your account, invalidation of results, and revocation of certificates.
8. Intellectual property
Exam items, rubrics, report templates, and certificate designs belong to the platform and its licensors. The platform is developed under license from Carnegie Mellon University; content copyright and attribution are set out in the attribution notice. You keep the rights to your own answers and grant us the licence needed to score them, produce your report, and support verification.
9. Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted access. Where force majeure, a third-party outage, or planned maintenance interrupts a formal attempt so that you cannot complete it, contact us and we will reissue the seat. Results describe your performance on a specific assessment; they are not a guarantee of any job, academic, or commercial outcome.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where appropriate, notified separately. Continued use means acceptance. Questions: support@atlas-ai.academy.
